Apple released iOS 18 to the public on Monday, September 16, 2024. The updates have brought many technological features to the consumer market.
Apple devices can now automatically solve equations in the Notes app. Users begin by writing the equation in the app on their iPhone or iPad, and the answer is promptly generated on the screen. When using an iPad paired with an Apple Pencil, the answer appears in the user’s handwriting.
Another important update in iOS 18 is that the user can now hide and lock apps. The locked apps can only be opened with Touch ID or a password. Now, no one can access apps the user doesn’t want to see. In addition to locking apps, the user can also schedule their messages, which means they can now set the date and time for a message.
Artificial intelligence, commonly known as AI, is now implemented within Apple devices as Apple Intelligence. AI is the ability of a computer to perform human-like tasks such as problem-solving and decision-making, and is now included in iOS 18. For instance, Siri has a new design. It is also much more flexible and can understand language better and answer questions about Apple products and updates. Also, there are new images that the user can create called Genmojis, The user can generate their personalized emojis. Lastly, many new writing tools were added to the update, including rewriting, proofreading, and summarizing text.
Apple can now record notes or meetings. It will record every single word the user says, and this feature can be very helpful, specifically during college lectures. It will give the user a 1 paragraph summary of everything said in the meeting or lecture.
The Apple iOS 18 update will become crucial to everyday Apple use. The update will help a range of people, from students to professionals trying to find a job, and the AI features will enhance the Apple experience and expand the capabilities of all users, whether they are using an iPad, iPhone, or MacBook.
