On February 2nd, thousands of people worldwide watched the 67th Grammy Awards show, which was held to honor the success of amazing musical artists. Musicians like Doechii, Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, and Kendrick Lamar won awards, showing their remarkable talent.
The Grammy Awards, formerly known as the Gramophone Awards, began in 1958. The Recording Academy created them and were closely related to the Hollywood Walk of Fame project. The awards were originally inspired by the Oscars and the Emmys but have since become the most prestigious music awards. Today, the Grammys are considered to be the music equivalent of the Oscars, and their viewership increases every year with over 15.4 million Americans watching the 2025 Grammy Awards.
This year’s Grammy Awards were hosted by Trevor Noah, a comedian and former talk show host, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
Many people were nominated, but only some walked off the stage with a Grammy…
- Record of the Year- “Not Like Us,” Kendrick Lamar
- Album of the Year- “Cowboy Carter,” Beyonce
- Best New Artist- Chappell Roan
- Song of the Year- “Not Like Us,” Kendrick Lamar
- Best Pop Solo Performance- “Espresso,” Sabrina Carpenter
- Best Pop Duo/Group Performance- “Die With a Smile,” Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga
- Best Rap Album- “Alligator Bites Never Heal,” Doechii
- Best Pop Vocal Album- “Short n’ Sweet,” Sabrina Carpenter
Out of the 94 Grammy categories, these were just some of the talented musicians who won awards this year. Kendrick Lamar swept a total of 5 wins, and Beyonce won her 35th Grammy out of her 99 nominations in her career.
Other than awards, celebrities like Sabrina Carpenter, Benson Boone, Chappell Roan, Billie Eilish, and Charli XCX, nominees and winners of the Grammys, performed outstanding songs on stage.
The Grammy’s also helped raise $24 million for wildfire relief. Los Angeles has recently been filled with many dangerous fires, destroying thousands of buildings and killing innocent people. The fires were a major part of the Grammys, with local firefighters presenting the album of the year for Beyonce, and so many artists speaking up about their love for LA.
Every year, the Grammy Awards bring joy to thousands of people around the world who eagerly await to see their favorite musicians rewarded. The Grammys tug at fans’ heartstrings and instill a sense of community throughout the entire music world. They give people a reason to laugh, shriek, and clap in delight, letting loose together to celebrate the year’s best music.
