In September 2025, Fallon students voted on the year’s biggest viral trends, and there were plenty to choose from. From the viral “6-7” everyone is saying today, used in basketball clips, to the Katseye “Milkshake” ad with its catchy dance, 2025 was packed with viral trends across social media. Some were funny, some were random, and all of them were super popular. Here is a look at the Top 5 Viral Trends of 2025, chosen by our very own Mustang community!
According to Fallon students, the top trend that blew up social media and immediately spread worldwide was “6-7”! This trend blew up thanks to a song called “Doot Doot (6 7)” by Skrilla. It was used in basketball edits featuring players who are 6’7″, and everyone at Fallon is surely obsessed!
In second place, we had a tie between the movie “K-pop Demon Hunters” and the Katseye “Milkshake” ad. “K-pop Demon Hunters” became a hit, especially with their girl group Huntrix and the boy group the Saja Boys. The global girl group Katseye’s “Milkshake” ad went viral for its super-catchy rhythm and the fame Katseye already had. It was also competitive with the American Eagle ad featuring Sydney Sweeney. The American Eagle ad was considered racist because it supposedly said that Sydney Sweeney had better “genes” than others. However, Katseye’s ad was praised for having a diverse collection of dancers.
Third place goes to the one and only Labubu! These small collectible dolls from Pop Mart went viral after celebs like K-pop idol Lalisa of BLACKPINK showed them off. People loved the surprise of the blind boxes and started collecting them like crazy.
In fourth place, we have the original Italian Brainrot. From funny phrases like “Tralalero Tralala” to “Ballerina Cappucina”, these memes took over social media. People even made AI images of all kinds of things, like sharks wearing Nike shoes to go with the jokes!
Finally, in fifth place is the meme “Nothing beats a Jet2 Holiday.” It started when someone on TikTok used the line, “Darling Hold My Hand” from Jess Glynne’s song “Hold My Hand.” The audio became a joke online, especially in memes about people’s vacation fails and holiday disasters.
According to 7th grader Layla Thep, the best trend of 2025 is, “Six-Seven because Six-Seven is Six-Seven.” She also said the Katseye Gap ad was “Better than the Sydney Sweeney American Eagle ad.”
Another 7th-grade Fallon student, Carter Chu, says, “6-7 is the top trend, even though I don’t like it. Italian brainrot is also one that could be on the list,” he adds.
Carter’s classmate, Anthony Bostic, piped up, saying, “I have a Labubu!”
So far, 2025 has had many awesome trends, and our Mustangs were all over them! From the phrase “6-7” and the Katseye Milkshake dance to Labubu dolls, Italian Brainrot jokes, and the “Nothing beats a Jet2 Holiday” meme, there is always something going viral. Everyone has their favorites, but these five have totally ruled the year thus far. We can’t wait to see what weird, funny, or cool trends come next!
