On top of that, the famous rapper, Ice Cube, rolled into Dodger Stadium in a blue lowrider with the World Series trophy in his hands. Not only did they celebrate their victory, but the parade was also to honor their second consecutive World Series title.
The seventh game of the series was held on November 1st at Rogers Centre in Toronto, Canada. With the audience at the edge of their seats, pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto induces a ground ball, turning it into a game-ending double play by shortstop Mookie Betts. In the 11th inning, Will Smith hits the go-ahead home run, followed by Yoshinobu Yamamoto’s stellar pitching performance. Finally, the championship game ended 5-4, with a victory over the Toronto Blue Jays. “And today, I get to say that I’m a champion for life, and that’s never going away,” concludes team player Clayton Kershaw in a speech during the fan celebration, signaling the end of his career as a baseball player.
This thrilling game became the most-watched MLB game since 1991, with an average of 51 million viewers across Japan, Canada, and the U.S, according to mlb.com. In the U.S. alone, the game averaged 26.88 million viewers on FOX. It’s now safe to say that the Dodgers are the first MLB team in 25 years to secure back-to-back championships.
