With so many celebrations around the corner, we wanted to know which holiday Fallon students think is the best. After collecting student responses, we identified three major holidays: Christmas, Halloween, and Thanksgiving. Each one brings its own special vibes, traditions, and memories that make this time of year unforgettable.
Taking the top spot is Christmas! Honestly, it’s no shock that it won first place. Christmas is known for its bright lights, decorated trees, and of course, presents. Many students said they love the cozy feeling of the holiday. Seventh grader Saanchi Mishra shared, “I like Christmas, because I get to hang out with my family and we love to look at everyone’s decorated houses.” Other Mustangs mentioned enjoying classic holiday traditions such as baking cookies, drinking hot chocolate, and rewatching movies like Home Alone, Elf, and The Grinch. Whether we celebrate Christmas for the gifts, the decorations, or the time together, it’s clear this holiday brings tons of joy to our campus.
Coming in second place is Halloween! The spookiest and most creative day of the year! On October 31st, students may dress up as anything they want. From superheroes, villains, animals, fictional characters, and even original characters. Our community said that the best part is going trick-or-treating with friends and racing through neighborhoods to collect as much candy as possible. Anjana Kayala, in the 6th grade, stated, “My favorite part of Halloween is getting a lot of candy and dressing up with my friends.” Honestly, who wouldn’t want to come home with a backpack full of free candy?
Finally, we have Thanksgiving, a holiday centered around gratitude, family, and most importantly, food! This celebration arrives during November, and fall truly begins. Students mentioned that they love the one-week break, which gives them time to relax, recharge, and spend the holiday with loved ones. From turkey and mashed potatoes to endless slices of pie, Thanksgiving brings the ultimate feast. Mahi Gadda appreciates the calm, cozy feel of the holiday and enjoys taking a moment to reflect on what they’re thankful for.
In conclusion, each of these holidays brings something special! Christmas fills the season with joy, lights, and family traditions. Halloween unleashes everyone’s creative, spooky, and candy-obsessed side, while Thanksgiving reminds us to appreciate the people and moments that make life meaningful. No matter which one you celebrate the most, these holidays are all about having fun, making memories, and enjoying life. Here at Fallon, the holiday spirit is definitely alive, and we can’t wait to see how Mustangs celebrate this year!
