Fallon Golf Team Wins League Championship

Fallon+Golf+Team+Wins+League+Championship

Give the league champions, the Fallon Golf team, a golf clap. On Monday, April 29, 2024, the golf team beat Pleasanton Middle School, Hart Middle School, and Harvest Park Middle School at Callippe Golf Preserve in Pleasanton, California.

Here is some information for those who don’t know how to play golf. Golf is a sport where the player uses a club to hit the ball. A hit is also referred to as a stroke. The object of the sport is to hit the ball in the hole with the least amount of strokes. Each hole has an expected number of strokes, which is called par. The number is often from 3-5 strokes and is usually determined by the distance from the start to the hole. The farther the hole, the more strokes for par. The player or team with the least strokes over 18 holes wins. Sometimes, the amount of holes played is reduced. Fallon played nine holes during their league championship.

Fallon Middle School played its top six players for the championship. The rest of the members still did an outstanding job during the season. Elin Cheng, Tyler Chow, Abheek Kurmapu, Lyle Park, Scott Tian, and Samarth Vadya participated in the tournament.

The team’s outstanding performance was led by seventh-grader Tyler Chow, who scored an impressive five under par. After his performance, here is what Tyler had to say. “I think my performance has been pretty good. I was sick for a bit, but I came back strong and got my team the honor of going to the championship.” Tyler Chow and many other players of the golf team have done a good job throughout their season to reach the championship.

After a challenging game during the championship, seventh grader Samarth Vadya said, “Our team has been playing well, and we are the best team in the Tri-Valley, which will probably be for many years to come.”

The Fallon golf team, through their unwavering dedication and hard work, has brought glory to our middle school. Let’s extend our heartfelt congratulations to them for securing this remarkable victory, which has undoubtedly cemented the legacy of Fallon Athletics.
